INGREDIENTS
- 8lb Pork Shoulder (Bone removed)
- Kosher salt
- 2 Cups Root Beer
- 1 tsp Liquid smoke flavoring (optional)
- BBQ sauce
STEPS:
- Lightly salt the pork shoulder the day before you plan to serve the pulled pork, if you remember.
- Add the pork shoulder, root beer and liquid smoke flavoring to a slow cooker
- Cover and cook on low until the meat begins falling apart (approximately 8 hours)
- Remove the pork from the slow cooker and discard the remaining liquid
- Shred the pork using two forks and return to the slow cooker
- Add the BBQ sauce to the slow cooker
- Stir and allow the BBQ sauce to warm before serving.
