However, if you are shopping for apples specifically to make apple pie tacos look for apples that are commonly used in apple pie such as Granny Smith

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Apple (Granny Smith)
- 4 Tbsp Butter
- ¼ cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 3 Corn Tortilla (6” diameter)
- ½ cup Whipped Cream
- ¼ cup Gluten Free Rolled Oats or quick Oats (Optional)
STEPS:
- Start off by slicing the apples into bite size pieces (¼” thick and about 1” square)
- In a frying pan melt the butter, when the butter begins to sizzle add the sliced apples
- Stirring frequently
- When the apples have begun to soften add in the brown sugar and cinnamon
- Let the butter and brown sugar and juices released from the apples cook down into an ooey gooey sticky sweet sauce. Add the oats if desired
- Warm or toast the tortilla shells
- You are now ready to serve, lay the tortilla shells on a plate
- Place a scoop of the apple taco filling from the frying pan in the middle of each tortilla in a line
- Top with whipped cream and serve immediately
- To eat fold up the sides of the tortilla and eat like a taco
